Public Beta Version 4.12 for the Garmin Forerunner 265 smartwatch is rolling out. The new software adds tools such as pre-event workout suggestions and glance shortcuts. Plus, a host of bug fixes resolve problems like inaccurate time or distance data, and mis-triggered alert tones.

Garmin has released Public Beta Version 4.12 for the Forerunner 265 smartwatch. At the time of writing, the software is currently rolled out to approximately 50% of eligible wearables. New additions via the update include workout suggestions to prepare you for a future cycling event and more shortcuts to glances from data fields on the watch face.

Garmin Beta v4.12 also allows you to enter a decimal weight during a strength activity, and Connect IQ System 6 watch faces are now supported. The new software includes a wide range of bug fixes; for example, a problem that caused the seconds value to be fractionally incorrect has been resolved. An issue with Connect IQ watch faces, which caused the screen to wake when gestures were disabled, has been fixed. Plus, Garmin has removed a bug which could result in the Performance Condition alert sounding a tone even with alerts disabled.

An error with activity syncing between devices has been resolved, as are several flaws which prevented refreshes. Other fixed problems include issues with inaccurate distance calculations, missing or faulty stride length data and map touch controls functioning incorrectly. You can view the full details of the new software version here. The update v4.12 will be automatically pushed to Forerunner 265 smartwatch if you are signed up for the Garmin Beta program. If you are not currently signed up, you can do so via Garmin Connect.
