Xiaomi has confirmed that it is less than a week away from launching the Pad 6 series. Based on an initial teaser, the Pad 6 series includes a nod to the Xiaomi 13 series and could serve as a laptop replacement.

Xiaomi is preparing to launch a new flagship tablet series, roughly 18 months after introducing the Pad 5 series. Since then, the company has focused on Redmi-branded tablets, with the Redmi Pad refreshed in November. Now, Xiaomi has teased the Pad 6 series, which will arrive alongside the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and the Smart Band 8.

As always, Xiaomi will reveal the Pad 6 in China first before bringing it to other markets. While it has not announced when the Pad 6 will be up for release globally, it will debut in China on April 18. Xiaomi has only shared one teaser image so far, which we have embedded below. However, it contains a few details about what to expect from the Pad 6 series when it debuts next week.

Specifically, the Pad 6 will feature a Xiaomi 13 series-inspired rear-facing camera design, with which Xiaomi has included a 50 MP primary camera and a second unknown camera. Also, Xiaomi has adorned the back of the Pad 6 with three pogo pins for the tablet’s detachable keyboard accessory. As the image below shows, the keyboard has a large trackpad, a built-in stand and five rows of laptop-style chiclet keys. The keyboard lacks a dedicated function row, but Xiaomi has integrated media controls within the keyboard’s number row.

Moreover, the Pad 6 supports an active stylus and appears to have a fingerprint scanner in its power button, which sits above its landscape-orientated front-facing camera. The Pad 6 will be available in three colour options too, although pricing has not leaked yet. Currently, Xiaomi is expected to offer the Pad 6 series in Snapdragon 870 and Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 variants, with the latter matching the new ZTE AxonPad.
