  1. My answer to the question of the week is actually Breath of the Wild. On a technical basis it’s amazing and I just saw an absolutely sick motorcycle trick that blew up three Guardians at once, but I can’t stand having the most basic movement restricted by a stamina meter. It’s a five on the RPGamer system and I’d probably give it a 3 if you held a gun to my head.

  2. So many… I liked Dark Souls well enough, but finished it without feeling like I ever wanted to play another in the series. Not a fan of the grim dark tone, tbh. I’d always bounced off Monster Hunter, but put about ten hours into Rise and enjoyed it. It’s a great game but the endlessness of it puts me off, and I haven’t gone back to it. Probably will one day, though. And my equivalent of Breath of the Wild (which I adore) is Chrono Trigger. It’s a good game, but I didn’t fall in love with it like so many others have.

  3. Darn! As a life long Zelda fan, my QOTW answer *was* gonna be BotW, but then you had to go and put in that “game that you think is good” caveat and make me actually think. You meanies!

In that case, I think I’d have to go with Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I thought it was a very good game, but I tried four separate times to get into it and never did. I liked the visuals, the world aesthetic, the stealth and combat aspects, hacking and reading all those emails, the various options the potential upgrades promised, and after four restarts I got pretty efficient at that first mission, but… it never clicked. I never went further and would always get drawn away by the next big RPG that came up at the time.

  4. After many years of playing tnearly every game in the series I have to realize that I have a hot take.

Zelda games. I have played almost every entry. And although I don’t think they are bad games, the only one I like is Link to the Past. All the other ones, and some of them I have sunk a lot of hours in and/or have beaten I don’t feel I fully enjoyed playing. I don’t even think they are bad games, but I fully realize they are not for me now. I have no plans to pick of Tears of the Kingdom, except maybe for collection sake.
