Willmott Dixon is set to build a £40 million healthcare hub in west London.

The contractor was selected by Hounslow Council and the NHS to deliver a modern replacement for Chiswick Health Centre.

The new facility, to be built on the same Fishers Lane site as the existing complex, will provide a greater range of services.

Designed by architects Allies and Morrison, it will include consulting and examination rooms, district nurse facilities and community rooms.

Non-medical spaces will include a landscaped central courtyard, a fifth-floor terrace, and gardens to support local ecology and provide outdoor recreational space.

The scheme will also deliver 55 affordable homes for key health workers such as nurses and physiotherapists.

The project is supported by all three practices currently operating from the site – Chiswick Family Doctors, Chiswick Health and West4GPs.

Doctor Venkatesham of Chiswick Family Doctors said: “For several years we have felt that the existing building is badly in need of repair and modernisation. We are very much looking forward to providing more and varied services for the community in Chiswick with better facilities housed in comfortable, modern premises fit for the future.”

Hounslow councillor Tom Bruce added: “I am delighted that residents in Chiswick will benefit from a new state-of-the-art health facility. We want all residents in Hounslow to enjoy good health and this is a concrete example of us working with the NHS to achieve this goal.”

The new centre is set to open in autumn 2024 and was procured through Pagabo’s Major Works Framework.

Willmott Dixon has previously delivered a range of healthcare projects in the South East, including the Tessa Jowell Health Centre in Dulwich, Whitehouse Medical Centre in Milton Keynes, and Grove View Integrated Health and Care Hub in Dunstable. The contractor’s work in Hounslow includes the Brentford Block D and Frank Towell Court housing developments.
