Hampshire County Council is seeking two builders for jobs worth a combined £200m.

The council has put a framework out to tender that includes two lots of work over four years, covering Hampshire and neighbouring counties.

The first lot, worth £100m in total, will mainly comprise extensions, refurbishments and alterations to existing schools. But it could also cover any type of building work to any property, including housing as well as fire, police and NHS buildings. The value of jobs will range from £800,000 to £6.5m.

The second lot, also worth £100m, will consist of residential new builds of about 25-35 units, or those worth up to £6.5m. It is intended to improve the delivery of smaller-scale housing schemes. The work may also involve extensions, refurbishments and alterations to other types of building.

Each lot will include construction-only commissions, as well as “develop and construct” work in which contractors also provide professional design services. Contractors will be awarded a maximum of one lot each.

Various local authorities and public bodies in Hampshire and neighbouring counties such as Berkshire, Wiltshire and Surrey will be able to use the framework.
