The “Mix Fold 3”, as the name implies, would be a third-gen foldable device from Xiaomi, should it really launch later in 2023 as projected in a new leak. It is also predicted to be at least as premium as its predecessor, integrating many of the flagship-grade specs of flexible and non-flexible members of its series alike.

Rumors concerning a successor to the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 have started to swirl, even though its launch may still be months away. In fact, according to the prolific leaker Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi fans should not expect an official unveiling for the third-gen foldable phablet until the third quarter of 2023 (3Q2023) or thereabouts.

This is because Xiaomi will reportedly stick with the same approximate release schedule as for the Mix Fold 2, which debuted in August 2022. Its next generation is predicted to be 1 of at least 6 other new flagships from its brand to launch in the second half of the year (2H2023).

Any upgrades for this “Mix Fold 3” compared to the 2 remain unknown, although it has been said to have an under-display selfie camera (or UDC) for its main OLED display.

That rumor has led to speculation that the Mix 4 (a 2022 premium candy-bar Xiaomi smartphone that also ships with a UDC display) is not getting a successor, and that its specs will be combined with those of the Fold 3 and consolidated into the same device in 2023.

Then again, the leak in question has recently also been rescinded, leaving the fate of either putative Mix-series devices a mystery for now.
