Kirk Cameron Heads to TN to Host Patriotic Story Hour at Public Library

Actor and producer Kirk Cameron is heading to a public library in Hendersonville, Tennessee, where he’ll read from his latest children’s book and talk about his love for the U.S.

Thousands are expected to attend the event, which is part of a series of library visits Cameron is making across the country.

This Saturday, he’ll be joined by Missy Robertson of the “Duck Dynasty” family, women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines and surfer and shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton. Hamilton will join virtually from Hawaii.

Cameron said the public library tour this year hopes to “reclaim the hearts and minds of America’s children,” Cameron told Fox News Digital. “This thing is just growing. It’s like this tiny little mustard seed that’s growing into this giant tree — and pretty soon, it’s going to fill the whole nation,” he continued.

“It’s really exciting because when the woke mobilizes, celebrities and politicians love to come out and show their support — and now it seems like the tides are finally turning.”

At the Saturday event, Missy Robertson will also be reading from her book, “Because You’re My Family.” Cameron said it is “all about the unconditional love that exists within a family and the beauty of adoption.”

Cameron and his wife have six children. They adopted four of their kids.

Gaines will also be at the event. She is the former University of Kentucky swimmer who says she was forced to compete and later share a locker room with transgender athlete and University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas in 2022.

“Riley has taken a stand against men competing in women’s sports,” said Cameron, “and destroying that higher-level competition for girls.”

Hamilton, a professional surfer who lost her arm in a 2003 shark attack, will join in virtually and talk about her new book, “Surfing Past Fear.”

“She’s been all over the news for standing up for what’s right and overcoming the fear of being canceled, so she’s going to share her message with the kids,” Cameron said.

Cameron also said before the event inside the library, he will lead a “big patriotic prayer,” sing the national anthem and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

“When you go woke, you go broke — morally, spiritually and politically. And maybe this is the hand of God waking people up so that this loving army of compassion will take back the hearts and minds of our children,” he said.
