OnePlus has only just released the OnePlus 11, its latest flagship smartphone. However, the company has already discounted 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage configurations. Billed as a ‘free memory upgrade’, the deal reduces the OnePlus 11 by 12.5% and should make the device more attractive for those after 256 GB of storage or more RAM.

OnePlus has taken a leaf out of Samsung’s book with the global launch of the OnePlus 11. Announced last week, the OnePlus 11 is one of an increasing number of smartphones to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset. Additionally, the OnePlus 11 has a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with a 1440p native resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate and an LTPO 3.0 backplane to enable variable refresh rates, among other features.

Initially, OnePlus offered various pre-order bonuses with the OnePlus 11, including up to US$500 for device trade-ins and a complimentary pair of OnePlus Buds Pro 2 earbuds in some markets. US bonuses were rather lacking though, with only a US$50 reduction on a pair of Buds Pro 2 earbuds. Subsequently, OnePlus has aped Samsung by offering free memory upgrades, with the 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage model now price matching its 128 GB sibling.

In other words, the most expensive OnePlus 11 SKU has received a US$100 and 12.5% price cut, despite only being released today. It is worth noting that retailers like Amazon US also carry the same deal, which it erroneously rounded to a 13% discount. Unfortunately, neither Amazon nor OnePlus has outlined when this deal expires. Please see OnePlus’ website for more details.
