Blizzard Announces Overwatch 2 X One Punch Man Collaboration Event!

Overwatch 2 players have been eyeing the arrival of the game’s third season for a while. The new season, which begins on February 7 is loaded with new skins, more features, and special events, including a One-Punch Man event.

On Monday, Blizzard Entertainment revealed more details about the third season of Overwatch 2 with a launch trailer. The video showcases four events – one being a collaboration between Overwatch 2 and One-Punch Man. It also reveals a Saitama-themed skin for Doomfist.

This is the first major IP collaboration for Overwatch 2. As of now, only Saitama skin has been revealed, but Blizzard has announced that there are more skins and cosmetics based on the anime, which will be available to players.

Moreover, a Legendary skin will also be unlockable once the players complete a specific set of themed challenges.

The Overwatch 2 X One-Punch Man collaboration event will commence on March 7 and will end on April 6.

The first-person shooter multiplayer game was originally released on October 4, 2022, and is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.

About One Punch Man

One-Punch Man is a Japanese superhero webcomic created by the artist One in early 2009. It has a manga adaptation illustrated by Yusuke Murata, as well as an anime adaptation. Following its publication, the webcomic quickly went viral, surpassing 7.9 million hits in June 2012.

On an unnamed Earth-like supercontinent planet, powerful monsters and villains have been wreaking havoc in the cities. To combat them, the world’s government created a Hero Association that employs superheroes to stop them. The heroes are ranked from Class C to Class S.

Saitama, an unassociated hero, hails from the metropolis of City-Z and performs heroic deeds for his own entertainment. He has trained himself to the point where he broke his “limit” and can effortlessly defeat any opponent with a single punch while slaying monsters the same way. But he is now bored with his omnipotence and frustrated by sensing he lacks a challenge.
