Here’s How You Can Make the Viral Pizza Soup That Everyone Is Obsessed With

All I need is some dippable pizza crust to top off this pizza soup experience.

Winter means cold weather, and cold weather means pipin’ hot homemade soup! Just like those classic Campbell’s commercials from our childhoods, there’s no better feeling than sitting down with a delicious bowl of soup after a chilled, snowy day. Trust me, we take our soup seriously around here. Between our best soup recipes and our fast-but-tasty soup recipes for our busiest days, we’ve got you covered. There’s no soup too difficult for us to conquer.

That’s why we’re so excited to add Grandma Babs’ pizza soup to our collection. Cheesy, meaty and full of big flavor, you know this is going to be our favorite recipe all winter long.

How to Make Pizza Soup

This crowd pleasing winter soup is loved by old and young and is the perfect lunch for a weekend getaway. ????????INGREDIENTS: 1 lb Italian Sausages (casing removed) 1/2 cup pepperoni chopped 1 sweet onion chopped 1 cup pizza sauce (or marinara) 2 cloves garlic chopped 1 red pepper chopped 2 tsp dried basil 1 tsp Italian seasoning 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes 4 cups chicken broth 1 – 28oz diced tomatoes 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded ????????INSTRUCTIONS: In a pot or dutch oven, cook sausage, pepperoni, onion and red pepper until sausage is no longer pink and veggies are tender. Crumble the sausage as you cook. Add garlic and cook for another minute. Add seasonings and then chicken broth, tomatoes and pizza sauce. Bring to a gentle boil, lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Ingredients

  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 sweet chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped pepperoni
  • 2 cloves of chopped garlic
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (or marinara)
  • 28-ounce can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 chopped red pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

Step 1: Add your meat and veggies

In a large soup pot on medium-high heat, add in your Italian sausage until it begins to crumble. Throw in your chopped onion, pepperoni and red pepper and saute until the sausage is no longer pink and the onions are tender and slightly see-through. Add garlic and cook for another minute.

Step 2: Add your seasonings

Once the meat is cooked through, sprinkle in your dried basil, Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes. Stir until thoroughly combined into the mixture.

Step 3: Add your sauce and broth

Now it’s time to add your can of diced tomatoes and your favorite pizza sauce. Mix well. Once everything is combined, pour in your chicken broth and let it come to a gentle boil. Lower the heat and allow to simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 4: Top with cheese and serve

Serve up your award-winning pizza soup in the bowl of your choice. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and enjoy!
