Georgia’s Jalen Carter leads the way on the initial 2023 NFL draft big board for NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, while Alabama’s Bryce Young comes in at No. 3.

Young is the highest-ranked quarterback, and Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud (No. 11), Kentucky’s Will Levis (No. 12) and Florida’s Anthony Richardson (No. 13) follow him at the position.

Jeremiah’s rankings reflect how no passer stands head and shoulders above the rest. A firm consensus doesn’t exist on the QB hierarchy either.

On Bleacher Report’s 2023 big board, Stroud is ahead of Young at No. 8 overall, with the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner at 13th. Richardson is next at 31st, and Levis (No. 38) is the only other quarterback in the top 50.

The overall outlook for this quarterback class is still much better than what was on offer in 2022.

Leading up to last year’s draft, Desmond Ridder (No. 17) was the highest-rated QB on B/R’s final big board, while Malik Willis narrowly made the cut (No. 48) for the top 50. Kenny Pickett, the only quarterback selected in the first round, ranked 62nd.

Draft boards always evolve as the process plays out.

Young and Stroud are the two most accomplished quarterbacks available.

Young threw for 8,200 yards and 79 touchdowns in two years as Alabama’s starter and won a national title as a freshman backup. Stroud had 8,123 passing yards and 85 touchdowns with the Buckeyes, helping them reach the College Football Playoff in 2022.

Richardson and Levis, meanwhile, possess the raw tools that stand out at the NFL Scouting Combine and pro days.

One of them could climb into the top five or become a candidate to be the first quarterback taken. The inverse could be true as well—Levis or Richardson may slip down the pecking order because of a poor showing in front of NFL talent evaluators.
