Tokyo Revengers is a fighting and action manga at its core, even though it has sci-elements such as time traveling. The storyline revolves around the motorbike gang culture of Japan, so we naturally see a lot of gang members fight each other.
However, not every fighter in the series is incredibly strong. Only some gang members, usually the captains and leaders of a particular gang, are stronger than the rest of the members.
Check out the list of the top 15 strongest characters in Tokyo Revengers manga to understand why these fifteen gangsters are superior to other fighters.
SPOILERS AHEAD!
This page contains spoilers from Tokyo Revenger: manga.
15. The Haitani Brothers
| Speed | 7/10 |
| Power | 8/10 |
| Stamina | 6/10 |
| Endurance | 7/10 |
| Durability | 7/10 |

The Haitani Brothers are captains of the Special Attack Force of the Kanto Manji gang. Instead of fighting one-on-one, they work better when they team up.
Ran uses underhanded tricks to win his battles. For example, he knocks down Mitsuya by using a brick to hit him. Meanwhile, Rindo uses his wrestling expertise to grapple and incapacitate his opponents.
They also used their peculiar fighting style to kill the leader of Max Maniacs during their teens. But their strategy doesn’t stand a chance against stronger enemies like Angry.
14. Yasuhiro Muto aka Mucho
| Speed | 7/10 |
| Power | 8/10 |
| Stamina | 7/10 |
| Endurance | 8/10 |
| Durability | 8/10 |

Yasuhiro Muto aka Mucho is Toman’s fifth division captain and the founding member of Tenjiku. Mucho is one of the few characters in Tokyo Revengers who has some knowledge of martial arts.
His proficiency in judo, paired with his incredible strength, highly boosts his signature throws. His deadly ‘throw’ has broken the spine of his opponent in the past. He can also lift people over his head quite easily.
13. Souya Kawata aka Angry
| Speed | 7/10 |
| Power | 9/10 |
| Stamina | 7/10 |
| Endurance | 8/10 |
| Durability | 7/10 |

Souya Kawata, better known as Angry, is the Fourth Division vice-captain of Toman. Angry is not too strong when he’s in a neutral mood. In fact, he’s weaker than his twin brother.
When someone hurts his friend or loved one, Angry’s ‘The Crying Blue Ogre’ mode is activated. In this mode, Angry’s strength increases by 100 times. Angry easily defeated two Tenjiku leaders, Mucho and Mocchi, and the Haitani brothers in this form.
12. Wakasa Imaushi aka Waka
| Speed | 8/10 |
| Power | 8/10 |
| Stamina | 8/10 |
| Endurance | 7/10 |
| Durability | 7/10 |

The Captain of Kanto Manji Gang’s Commando Unit has a unique fighting style compared to other characters. Wakasa uses his highly-efficient evasive skills to dodge the attacks of his opponents.
His dodging skills overwhelmed even a tough fighter like Kakucho. Paired with Benkei’s crude and heavy punches, he easily defeated nearly 100 Rokuhara Tandai members during the Battle of Three Deities.
11. Keizo Arashi aka Benkei
| Speed | 7/10 |
| Power | 9/10 |
| Stamina | 8/10 |
| Endurance | 9/10 |
| Durability | 8/10 |
Just like the Haitani brothers, Benkei works better with a team rather than solo. Benkei was a top executive of Brahman, just like Wakasa.
Benkei is a tanky fighter in the series, and he can weather strong attacks from multiple opponents. He can easily pack a hefty punch, which works well with Wakasa’s evasive style.
He managed to overwhelm even South Terano at the beginning of their battle, although he quickly lost that advantage later on.
10. Shuji Hanma
| Speed | 8/10 |
| Power | 8/10 |
| Stamina | 8/10 |
| Endurance | 9/10 |
| Durability | 8/10 |
Shuji Hanma’s debut was quite memorable since he stopped Mikey’s infamous ‘roundhouse kick’ with relative ease.
Shuji is one of the primary antagonists in the series, and he’s Kisaki’s most loyal follower. The former Acting Leader of Valhalla is well-known for his sadistic and violent personality.
Shuji’s true strength lies in his endless endurance. He could still fight after receiving Mikey’s deadly kick. He has rightfully earned the ‘Zombie’ nickname because even a talented fighter like Draken had to deliver several punches to beat Shuji.
9. Kakucho
| Speed | 10/10 |
| Power | 8/10 |
| Stamina | 7/10 |
| Endurance | 8/10 |
| Durability | 8/10 |
Kakucho was the right-hand man of Tenjiku’s boss. His position in Tenjiku speaks volumes about his power. He was the only one who could beat Angry’s ‘The Crying Blue Ogre’ form with ease.
Kakucho is not only physically strong, but also extremely fast as well. He took down Chifuyu Matsuno and Seishu Inui before they could blink. Even Angry confessed that he couldn’t dodge Kakucho’s blows, because his attacks were too fast.
8. Keisuke Baji

Baji’s untimely demise during the Valhalla arc definitely weakened Toman’s strength. Baji was the First Division captain of Toman and was known as one of the strongest fighters in the gang. He was known for his immense endurance.
The best display of Baji’s endurance was during the Toman versus Valhalla battle. Even though he was stabbed, he fought multiple enemies at once using an iron pipe. He continued fighting till he collapsed due to severe blood loss.
7. Taiju Shiba
| Speed | 7/10 |
| Power | 8/10 |
| Stamina | 9/10 |
| Endurance | 10/10 |
| Durability | 9/10 |

Besides Takemichi, Taiju Shiba is the only person who managed to knock out Mikey with a single punch in the entire series. Taiju, the boss of the Black Dragon gang, is notorious for abusing his younger siblings.
Taiju is naturally gifted with raw strength. His brute force and crude fighting style easily overwhelm the Shiba siblings and the Wakasa-Benkei duo. However, he loses to Mikey because his fighting style is lacking in finesse and technique.
6. Senju Kawaragi
| Speed | 10/10 |
| Power | 8/10 |
| Stamina | 9/10 |
| Endurance | 9/10 |
| Durability | 8/10 |

Among the countless male fighters in Tokyo Revengers, Senju Kawaragi stands out as the strongest female character in the entire series. Senju is the leader of Brahman, and she used to be one of the Three Deities of Kanto.
Unlike the crude and rough fighting style of other fighters, Senju uses surprise attacks and acrobatic moves that fit her lithe stature. She achieved the impressive feat of dodging South’s attacks and rendering him unconscious for a while in the Battle of Three Deities.
Moreover, she also defeats more than 50 Kanto Manji gang members by herself in chapter 248 and only gives up when exhaustion overcomes her.
5. Ken Ryuguji aka Draken
| Speed | 9/10 |
| Power | 9/10 |
| Stamina | 9/10 |
| Endurance | 9/10 |
| Durability | 10/10 |

Draken could have ranked much higher in this list if he had achieved more feats in the series. However, Draken’s immense fighting prowess is no joke.
Draken is a slugger who uses hard punches and kicks to beat his opponents. He easily defeated around 100 members of the Black Dragon gang. He was able to block Osanai’s, Kazutora’s, and Hanma’s surprise attacks.
Besides, his immense durability is certainly laudable. He is one of the few people who could withstand South’s fortissimo move.
4. Izana Kurokawa
| Speed | 9/10 |
| Power | 9/10 |
| Stamina | 10/10 |
| Endurance | 9/10 |
| Durability | 9/10 |

Izana Kurokawa is the leader of the Tenjiku gang, who serves as the main antagonist of the Tenjiku arc. His position as Tenjiku’s leader pretty much proves just how strong he is.
Izana’s fighting strategy is a little complex. Firstly, he attempts to predict the moves of his opponent. Most of the time, his predictions are correct. After predicting their moves, he counters their attacks.
Izana was able to fight Mikey without his Dark Impulse form by using his sheer instinct. But since the fight is interrupted, we don’t know whether Izana is stronger than Mikey in his base form.
3. South Terano
| Speed | 8/10 |
| Power | 10/10 |
| Stamina | 10/10 |
| Endurance | 9/10 |
| Durability | 10/10 |
South Terano cuts an intimidating figure with his towering height of 210 centimeters. But South’s huge physique is hardly the scariest aspect of his. Rather, it’s his heavy punches that strike fear in his opponents.
South’s signature move is ‘fortissimo’. Fortissimo is South’s strongest hook, which has the ability to instantly knock out his opponent.
He has an impressive track record in street fighting as well. His punches and hooks have taken down Kakucho, the Waka-Benkei duo, Senju, Draken, and many other fighters.
Even though he was no match for Dark Impulse Mikey, he did manage to scratch him during the battle.
2. Takemichi Hanagaki (with foresight)
| Speed | 9/10 (using foresight) |
| Power | 8/10 (in the last timeline) |
| Stamina | 10/10 |
| Endurance | 10/10 |
| Durability | 10/10 |

Takemichi’s physical strength is certainly lackluster, but he makes up for his weakness by having endless endurance and durability. Even though he isn’t able to land any punches, Kakucho, Taiju, and even Izana’s blows never knocked him down.
Takemichi ranks second in this list because he has the power to see the future. He gains this new power during the Three Deities arc after he foresees Senju’s death.
This ability allows him to keep up with a Dark Impulse Mikey, even though he’s fighting him alone. In fact, the Crybaby Hero also manages to land a successful hit on Mikey during the battle!
In the final timeline, Takemichi becomes the founding member of Toman and beats man opponents with Mikey. So, I believe that the experience of many battles turns him into a seasoned, powerful fighter in the final timeline.
1. Manjiro Sano aka Mikey
| Speed | 9/10 (using foresight) |
| Power | 8/10 (in the last timeline) |
| Stamina | 10/10 |
| Endurance | 10/10 |
| Durability | 10/10 |

Finally, the one who takes the number one spot in this list is Toman’s leader and Takemichi’s best friend, Manjiro Sano aka Mikey.
Manjiro “Mikey” Sano, aka The Invincible Mikey, is the strongest in Tokyo Revengers. The leader of Toman remains undefeated in the series. His kicks can one-shot most enemies. He has astounding endurance but can easily dodge attacks anyway with his reflexes.
He stays in top shape even after fighting multiple opponents for a long time. Serious injuries like a direct hit to his head don’t deter him either.
Besides, Mikey’s Dark Impulse form can instantly eliminate formidable opponents like South Terano. Takemichi had to rely on his supernatural abilities to keep up with this form.
Tokyo Revengers is a manga written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine on March 1, 2017, and ended its run in November 2022. It is compiled into 30 tankobon volumes.
The story revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, who learned that Tokyo Manji Gang had killed his only ex-girlfriend from back in middle school. After learning about the incident, Takemichi was pushed from the railway platform.
Landing on the tracks, he closed his eyes, accepting his death, but when he opened his eyes, he had time-leapt 12 years into the past.
