Rep. Dan Crenshaw calls Republicans opposed to Kevin McCarthy ‘terrorists’ and ‘clowns’

If we have our count right, Kevin McCarthy has been voted down for Speaker of the House after six ballots. The House has adjourned until later tonight, but it doesn’t look like those 20 or so Republicans who refuse to vote for McCarthy are going to budge.

We understand that nerves are wearing thin, but Rep. Dan Crenshaw referred to the holdouts not just as clowns, but as terrorists. Not cool.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw on the 20 Republicans who oppose McCarthy:

I didn’t think it was possible, but Dan Crenshaw is a bigger scumbag than Little Adam Kinzinger

— Vince Langman (@LangmanVince) January 4, 2023

WTH, Dan Crenshaw called the 20 not voting for McCarthy terrorist on live radio.

“We cannot let the terrorists win. That’s basically what’s happening.”

(He’s compromised)

— Kambree (@KamVTV) January 4, 2023

It’s possible, believe it. @RepDanCrenshaw has been compromised somewhere along the way, or he was never a true conservative. Sad! #RINO

— WickedSon (@SoggyBottom22) January 4, 2023

I’ve lost all respect for Crenshaw. I had high hopes but he just shows his true colors the longer he’s in the public eye…

— Mike Splain (@cheesecakejunky) January 4, 2023

He’s our John McCain.

— William Kelly (@thee_ppd) January 4, 2023

Ah, yeah he has been compromised from the start.

— abefoster (@abefoster10) January 4, 2023

Dan Crenshaw is questionable. Not trustworthy in the least.

— whats it matter (@fatdogz) January 4, 2023

He needs to go.

— Manda Panda (@mandy_biddulph) January 4, 2023

But he was one of our favorites when he first entered the scene.

Love all the real colors coming out in this debacle! But already knew this about Crenshaw.

— Debbie Huff (@georgiagirl211) January 4, 2023

Why can’t we allow it to happen? What’s wrong with flushing people like John Boehner, Paul Ryan, and Kevin McCarthy when they move into a leadership position and fail? Why does Crenshaw believe they deserve special privileges?

— John Hawkins (@johnhawkinsrwn) January 4, 2023

Crenshaw was asked about the terrorist remark and told Republicans to “get over it.”

Rep. Dan Crenshaw to @DailyCaller when asked why he called over 20 of his GOP colleagues terrorists: “It’s a figure of speech. Get over it.” https://t.co/Camo0jx8Ga

— Henry Rodgers (@henryrodgersdc) January 4, 2023

We’re more comfortable with “clowns.”

“These fucking people,” Rep. @DanCrenshawTX tells me after leaving the House floor. “Now they’re just being clowns.”

I really thought Dan would be a difference maker. Very disappointing.

— Justin Jewell (@justinkjewell) January 4, 2023

Now word is that McCarthy is meeting with Democrats to see if he can get the necessary votes.
