Super Eagles attacker Samuel Chukwueze is expected to stay at AC Milan for the upcoming season, but another Nigerian could be on his way out of the club this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

AC Milan appointed coach Ruben Amorim to lead the team this summer. With his appointment, changes are being made to the squad, as a few players are being let go, while new names have been added.

Chukwueze was one of the players whose future was in doubt, but Amorim confirmed that he wants the Nigerian to stay.

However, the Portuguese tactician has made his decision on another Nigerian, David Odogu, and the defender might be on his way out.

The club only just signed him from Wolfsburg for €7 million last summer, but he struggled to get consistent minutes, featuring in just three games for the first team last season. In fact, he had to play with the youth team at various points.

Now, with three years left on his contract, the club is looking to loan him out.

Where Does Odogu Move To After Exiting AC Milan?

Football Italia reports that the Rossoneri will only listen to loan offers for the 20-year-old center-back, with the main clubs interested being Bundesliga side Mainz 04 and former Belgian Jupiler Pro League champions Anderlecht.

Odogu is also willing to leave as he wants to secure more playing time. A return to Germany appears most likely, given that he came from a Bundesliga club and has spent most of his life there.

The young defender was born in Berlin, Germany, to a Nigerian father and a German mother, making him eligible to represent either country.

He has featured extensively for Germany at the youth level, representing them at the Under-16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 levels.

While he has not yet expressed a desire to switch allegiance to Nigeria due to his youth, he may decide to play for the Super Eagles in the future if a senior German call-up does not arrive.

Odogu stands at 6 feet 3 inches—a decent height for a defender—possessing a strong physical presence and solidity in one-on-one duels. He also displays composure on the ball and reads the game quite well.

He will be hoping to reach his full potential once he secures a move away from AC Milan.
