London artist Tony Njoku today releases his new EP, ‘A WORLD OF BODIES ON FIRE’, via PRAH Recordings.
Written in the aftermath of burnout and disappointment, the four-track project captures the tension between interior cataclysms and real-world calamity. Njoku conjures up propulsive, immediate instrumental pieces that move between moments of rage and reflection, euphoria and stillness.
The EP’s title reflects multiple states of intensity. From the horror of burning bodies and collective catastrophe, to an overactive nervous system pushed into fight or flight, to the passions and desires that animate everyday life. As Njoku puts it, “we’re all on fire in some way.”
He continues:
“This EP was made on the back of some pent up rage and sadness I needed to let go of. After burnout and disappointments I needed to scream, cry, laugh and move. I needed to get a lot off my chest, and thought the best way to do that was through my synths and piano. This project is a collection of raging exhalations, quiet revelations, subtle smirks of humility, meandering through emotional temperatures, laments and meditations. The objective was to splurge on feelings and to move through the fire that was building up inside.”
Njoku is set to perform at this year’s Meltdown Festival, curated by Harry Styles, at London’s Southbank Centre. On June 19th, he’ll open for Orlando Weeks at the songwriter’s only solo live performance of 2026, joining a programme that also features Jon Hopkins, Nilüfer Yanya, Kamasi Washington, Yussef Dayes and more.
