Swiss giants FC Basel are poised to complete the signing of talented Nigerian defender Akpe Victory this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
Victory has attracted significant interest from clubs across Europe, despite arriving on the continent just two years ago.
He began his European journey with Banga in Lithuania before moving to Zalaegerszeg at the turn of the year. His displays for the Hungarian club have been impressive, resulting in links to several clubs throughout this summer window.
In recent weeks, Victory has been associated with Benfica, Rangers, Strasbourg, and Turkish Cup winners Trabzonspor. However, no concrete deal emerged from the speculation.
Now, according to transfer expert Rudy Galetti, the former Swiss Super League champions are set to finalize a deal for the talented 19-year-old defender.

The Nigerian is valued at €2 million on Transfermarkt, though the final transfer fee remains undisclosed. Previous reports suggested that Zalaegerszeg would only entertain bids in the region of €5 million.
