May 14, (THEWILL) — The cast of “The Fast and the Furious” reunited at the 79th Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday, May 13, to celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary.
Original stars, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster and Tyrese Gibson, attended a photocall and a special midnight screening of the 2001 action film at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
They were joined by Meadow Walker, daughter of late actor, Paul Walker, who died in a car crash in 2013.
Diesel appeared in high spirits during the Cannes event, posing for photographers and greeting fans on the red carpet. He also promoted the franchise’s upcoming final film, “Fast Forever”, which is scheduled for release in March 2028 by Universal Pictures.
The “Fast & Furious” franchise has earned more than $7 billion at the global box office since the first film debuted in 2001.

Cannes hosted the anniversary screening as part of this year’s festival lineup, which features fewer major Hollywood studio films.
The reunion also paid tribute to Paul Walker, whose legacy remains closely tied to the franchise. Meadow Walker, who previously appeared in “Fast X”, shared several moments with Diesel during the celebration.
