Police in Esztergom have launched an investigation against unknown individual on suspicion of harassment following the circulation of forged military call-up papers, the Komárom-Esztergom County Police Headquarters said in a statement on Monday via its official website.
According to the authorities, reports surfaced on online news portals indicating that several residents in the village of Dömös had received falsified conscription notices from unknown perpetrators. The document in question bears a stamp resembling that of the Ministry of Defence.
Police have emphasised that the call-up notice published in the press is not genuine and constitutes a clear attempt at deception.
Members of the public are urged to report any such correspondence to the police. Anyone with information related to the offence is asked to contact the authorities via the emergency number 112, or anonymously through the Telephone Witness hotline on 06-80/555-111.
