Reigning Italian Serie A champions Inter Milan must make a significant decision regarding the future of Super Eagles midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
Since joining Inter Milan in 2023, Akinsanmiro has spent the majority of his time developing away from the club. Due to intense competition within the Nerazzurri squad, the 21-year-old has completed two separate loan spells to gain senior experience.
Two seasons ago, he was on loan at Sampdoria in Serie B. Most recently, he spent the season with Pisa following their promotion to Serie A. During his time there, the former Remo Stars man provided one assist in 25 appearances, though he was unable to help the club avoid relegation as they finished at the bottom of the table.

When Akinsanmiro joined Pisa, a purchase option was included in the contract, giving the club the right to sign him permanently. In this instance, a €7.5 million buy-option was inserted—a figure Pisa are willing to trigger.
However, the transfer situation is complicated by the underlying financial dynamics.

Akinsanmiro has proven his quality since arriving in Italy, establishing himself as a reliable midfielder known for his high work rate, passing ability, and knack for advancing play. Because of these attributes, Pisa are eager to retain his services and have signaled their intent to meet the €7.5 million valuation.
Despite his departure, the Serie A champions continue to rate the 21-year-old highly, believing he possesses the potential to develop into a top-tier talent. Consequently, the club is reluctant to let the Nigerian star leave permanently.

Inter Milan holds an €8.5 million buy-back clause in Akinsanmiro’s contract, which becomes active this summer. The Nerazzurri now face a big choice: trigger the clause to secure his return or allow him to remain with Pisa.
While it remains to be seen where the midfielder will play next season, Inter Milan holds the final authority. If they choose to pay the required fee, they can secure their man and bring him back into their ranks.
