India defeated Pakistan by 64 runs at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham in their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 fixture on Sunday.
All-rounder Deepti Sharma starred with a five-wicket haul, as Pakistan were bundled out for 106, whilst chasing 171 against the Women in Blue.
Batting first, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side were marshalled by a 68-run knock by opener Smriti Mandhana, who amassed nine fours and two maximums in her innings.
Kaur and Richa Ghosh (34) joined hands to add 70 to the overall tally. Ghosh’s knock was instrumental, as she took merely 17 balls, smashing five fours and a maximum before being clean bowled by Fatima Sana.
