The Yamaha SR-B40A sound bar is now at its lowest price ever on Amazon again after a 43% discount. The mid-range soundbar offers Dolby Atmos sound, dialogue enhancement technology, and a subwoofer for low-bass. It can be used as a smartphone speaker.

Amazon has dropped the price of the Yamaha SR-B40A sound bar by 43%, for a $170.04 savings off the MSRP of $399.99. The mid-range sound bar delivers audio with Dolby Atmos surround sound and a wireless subwoofer designed to create rich, warm bass, according to Yamaha.

The Yamaha SR-B40A comes with Clear Voice technology to enhance the clarity of spoken speech, while the remote control allows quick access to Stereo, Standard, Movie, and Game EQ modes. The subwoofer and main soundbar volume controls are separate on the remote, enabling fine tuning of the sound balance between the two speaker components.

Although it does have a subwoofer, the mid-range model does not have rear satellite speakers for advanced surround sound reproduction, which the $699 Yamaha True X Bar 50A sound bar offers.

The soundbar can be connected to any source that has an optical audio or HDMI output. It can also stream music and podcasts over Bluetooth from any smartphone or computer.

The Yamaha SR-B40A main speaker unit measures 35-7/8 × 2-5/8 × 5-1/4 in. (91.1 × 6.7 × 13.3 cm) and weighs 6.4 lbs. (2.9 kg), while the subwoofer measures 7-5/8 × 16-1/2 × 16 in. (19.4 × 41.9 × 40.6 cm) and weighs 17.9 lbs. (8.1 kg). The subwoofer connects wirelessly, allowing the main speaker unit to fit comfortably in front of smaller TVs.
