It will be wet in most parts of the country on Monday as thundershowers are expected. Some provinces will experience warm weather while strong or damaging winds will hit the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal, according to the South African Weather Service (SAWS).

Impact-based warnings

Yellow Level 2 warning: Expect strong damaging winds between Cape Point and Port Edward, causing disruptions in small harbours, ports and travel services in the extreme south-western parts of the Eastern Cape.

Yellow Level 2 warning: Damaging waves along the Eastern Cape coast may disrupt beach activities and pose navigation challenges for small vessels.

Yellow Level 1 warning: Strong winds along the KwaZulu-Natal coast may disrupt small harbours and ports.

Yellow Level 1 warning: Damaging waves between Cape Columbine and Plettenberg Bay, and along the KwaZulu-Natal coast, may affect small vessels and beach activities.

Advisories

Cold, wet and windy conditions are expected in the southern parts of the Namakwa region, and the Central Karoo, Cape Winelands, western Overberg, and the City of Cape Town districts in the Western Cape.

In the SAWS colour-coded weather warning system, yellow indicates a moderate risk of impact that requires caution and awareness, while orange indicates that a higher-risk impact is expected, requiring increased attention and preparation.

SAWS uses the numbers to indicate the likelihood of weather-based impacts occurring. Levels 2 and 6 are high, and level 4 is low.
