Antonee Robinson’s lengthy wait for a first-career English Premier League goal finally came to an end on Sunday.
Robinson scored from the penalty spot to help Fulham earn a 1-1 road draw with Wolves at Molineux Stadium. The U.S. men’s national team left back earned Man of the Match honors after delivering a strong 90 minutes in Marco Silva’s starting lineup.
Mateus Mane propelled the already-relegated Wolves in front after 25 minutes but Robinson stepped up first-half stoppage time to earn Fulham a share of the spoils.
It marked Robinson’s first Premier League goal in his 157th top-flight appearance for the Cottagers.
Robinson not only scored Fulham’s equalizer but he also won eight duels, made 10 defensive recoveries, and three interceptions. The 28-year-old also had the most touches in the match (96) while completing 85% of his passes (56/66).
Fulham sit in 12th place following Sunday’s result and remain mathematically alive for a potential European berth with one match to play. The Cottagers will need to defeat Newcastle United in their season finale on May 24, as well as seek dropped results for Brentford, Sunderland, Chelsea, and Everton.
Elsewhere in England, Brenden Aaronson came off limping in Leeds United’s win over Brighton & Hove Albion. Chris Richards featured off of the bench in Crystal Palace’s road draw with Brentford. Alyssa Thompson and Chelsea edged Phallon Tullis-Joyce and Manchester United.
In Germany, Joe Scally and Borussia Moenchengladbach rolled past Hoffenheim in their Bundesliga finale. Gio Reyna also featured for Gladbach in the result. Kristoffer Lund and FC Koln suffered a hammering loss at champions, Bayern Munich. Mael Corboz and Arminia Bielefeld sealed league safety in the 2. Bundesliga.
In Italy, Christian Pulisic came off the bench to assist once in AC Milan’s road win over Genoa. Weston McKennie and Juventus missed the chance to seal a UEFA Champions League berth against Fiorentina.
Elsewhere, Ricardo Pepi scored from the penalty spot in PSV’s season finale win over FC Twente. Sergino Dest also featured in PSV’s result. Bryan Reynolds delivered the winning assist in Westerlo’s crucial win over Sporting Charleroi. Auston Trusty helped Celtic retain the Scottish Premiership title on the final day.
