Voice Actress Satomi Akesaka Announces Marriage

Entertainment

Voice actress Satomi Akesaka announced her marriage on her X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday.

Akesaka, 38, revealed that she has married a man who is not a celebrity or involved in the entertainment industry. According to her post, the two were originally “drinking buddies” who met through social gatherings. The announcement was accompanied by a wedding photo featuring Akesaka in a bridal gown and a handwritten message to her fans.

In her statement, Akesaka noted that while the announcement coincided with a live broadcast—making it feel “like an April Fools’ joke”—the news is indeed true. She described her husband as a calm and kind person whose influence has helped her grow, mentioning that she has even begun to moderate her drinking habits since meeting him.

Akesaka expressed her intention to continue her career in the industry, stating, “I will continue to work as an actor as I have before. Please provide your wedding gifts in the form of work offers!” She concluded by asking for the continued support and guidance of her fans and colleagues as she enters this new chapter of her life.

In 2018, Akesaka notably retired from singing activities and graduated from the BanG Dream! franchise’s band Roselia due to sudden hearing loss. While she was replaced in the role of Rinko Shirokane within the franchise, she has since continued her career in voice acting while carefully managing her health condition.

Akesaka is a veteran voice actress known for her roles as Chrome Dokuro in Katekyou Hitman Reborn!, Esdeath in Akame ga Kill!, and Rinko Shirokane in BanG Dream! She is also widely recognized as the play-by-play announcer in the Uma Musume: Pretty Derby franchise and for portraying Henriette Mystere in Tantei Opera Milky Holmes.
