Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has revealed who he considers the best teammate of his career, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian forward has enjoyed a remarkable journey in his career that has taken him across Germany, Belgium, France, Italy and now Turkey and has established himself as one of the most sought-after strikers in world football today.

Now at Galatasaray after completing a Turkish record €75 million move last summer, Osimhen has scored 57 goals in 72 appearances and is on the verge of winning a second Turkish Super Lig title after helping the club secure a league and cup double last season.

Speaking on the 360 Experience with Onah Kosi, Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen named former Napoli teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the best player he has shared a dressing room with, while also backing the Georgian winger to reach even greater heights in his career.

Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia spent two seasons together at Napoli, forming a devastating attacking partnership and their chemistry helped Napoli to the Serie A title in the 2022-23 season which ended their 33-year wait for a league title.

Both players were named in the Serie A Team of the Season and while Kvaratskhelia finished as the league’s top assist provider, Osimhen won the Golden Boot in one of the most productive partnerships in the history of the Italian league.

“Kvaratskhelia”, Osimhen said when asked about his best teammate.

“He’s such an amazing player, he’s a top guy. I mean, in the dressing room and on the pitch, he’s that guy. He’s an amazing person and when he came to Naples, I used to say, ‘Inshallah, in the near future, he can win the Ballon d’Or.’ He can really do that.”

The Georgian winger moved to Paris Saint-Germain in January 2025, a few months after Osimhen left Napoli for Galatasaray. Since then, he has continued to impress and has taken his performances to another level.

Osimhen praised Kvaratskhelia further and described him as one of the best wingers in the world due to his consistency and impact on games.

“Even after he moved to Paris, we’ve stayed in touch. We keep reaching out to each other, and I’ve always congratulated him on his achievements, and he does the same for me.

“I mean, he’s that guy. He’s one of the best wingers in the world right now, no one can argue that and I wish him all the very best”, the Nigerian forward concluded.

Meanwhile, Osimhen will now turn his full attention to Saturday’s clash against Samsunspor, where a victory would secure a fourth consecutive Turkish Super Lig title for Galatasaray and the second of his career.
