Elton John will release a special remix EP on Record Store Day.
In addition to being a music legend Elton John is also a staunch advocate for vinyl, and his own record collection contains some absolute jewels.
This year, he’ll be taking part in Record Store Day, with a freshly commissioned remix EP set to land on April 18th. Following this, the digital album will be available to download exclusively on Beatport from April 19th. Pre-order here.
It’s a curious cast, too – The Blessed Madonna is on there, alongside The 2 Bears, and KDME, amongst others.
Elton comments…
Record Store Day is incredibly important to me and with this package I really think we’ve made something special for dance music fans. I first got into dance music in ’70s New York through disco and those early days at clubs like Le Jardin and Studio 54. It’s been a huge part of my life ever since. As a genre, it’s so progressive and it’s always evolving and pushing boundaries, and it’s never far from the mainstream. God knows how many 12″ dance records I’ve bought over the years, and I get sent so many great dance and electronic records that I get to champion on my Rocket Hour radio show. Positiva is such an iconic label and I’m thrilled they will be releasing this collection of my favourite remixes from over the years.
