Maduka Okoye produced one of the finest performances of his career as Udinese stunned AC Milan with a commanding 3-0 win at the San Siro, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian goalkeeper was at the heart of the result, keeping a third straight clean sheet in Serie A for the first time in his career. It was a night where everything seemed to go right for Okoye, from his positioning to his decision-making, as he frustrated Milan’s attackers again and again.

Milan finished the match with 20 shots, but only three were on target, largely because Okoye stood firm. His most eye-catching moment came when he denied former Real Madrid star Luka Modrić, reacting quickly to push away a low, long-range effort that looked destined for the bottom corner. He later stopped Modrić again, showing sharp reflexes and strong hands under pressure.

Okoye also produced a brilliant save to tip a powerful volley from Alexis Saelemaekers onto the crossbar, while he commanded his area well by punching clear dangerous crosses. In front of him, Udinese’s defence worked tirelessly, but it was the goalkeeper who gave them confidence, organising the back line and making key interventions at the right moments.

By the final whistle, Okoye had not only secured a famous clean sheet but also reached a personal milestone; three consecutive shutouts in Italy’s top flight, following earlier games against Genoa and Como.

Soccer Udinese punish Milan with clinical finishing

While Okoye protected the goal, Udinese were ruthless going forward. They absorbed pressure and struck at the perfect moments, punishing Milan’s defensive mistakes.

The breakthrough came in the 27th minute when a quick counter-attack led by Nicolò Zaniolo caused confusion in the Milan defence. A cross from Arthur Atta was turned into his own net by young defender Davide Bartesaghi, handing Udinese the lead.

Ten minutes later, Udinese doubled their advantage. Zaniolo was involved again, delivering a superb ball into the box that Jurgen Ekkelenkamp converted with a simple header from close range.

Milan tried to respond after the break, dominating possession with over 60% of the ball, but they struggled to break down a well-organised Udinese side. The visitors shifted into a compact defensive shape, closing spaces and winning key tackles, especially in the second half.

The game was sealed in the 71st minute when Arthur Atta finished off another swift move. Showing composure, he feinted a shot before calmly placing the ball into the bottom corner.

The result ended Udinese’s run of four defeats against Milan and lifted them into mid-table, while Milan’s poor run continued. With four losses in their last seven league matches, their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League have taken a serious hit.
