Report: UFL Head Football Coach Arrested in Texas for DWI

According to multiple sources, former NFL wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr., who was serving as head coach of the UFL’s Columbus Aviators, had been arrested in the Dallas–Fort Worth area on charges related to driving while intoxicated (DWI). The incident happened today, a day before a scheduled league game, creating sudden uncertainty around the team’s leadership and preparation.

Ted Ginn Jr. has posted a $1000 bond and has since been released.

According to early reports, Ginn Jr. was taken into custody following a traffic stop, though specific details surrounding the circumstances of the arrest, such as blood alcohol level or whether any additional charges were filed, have not been fully disclosed. In 2009, while he was an active NFL player, Ginn was present during an incident in which his former teammate Donte Whitner was arrested at a nightclub. Ginn himself was not charged or accused of wrongdoing in that case.
