Kathy Griffin sends fans into a frenzy with striking transformation

Kathy Griffin debuted a bold new hairstyle on social media on Monday that made the comedienne look practically unrecognizable without her signature red locks.

The 65-year-old took to Instagram to share several photos of herself standing inside her home with a platinum blonde wig on. Her eyebrows were still a blazing red color, and she wore a brown smoky eye makeup look with a pink lip. Kathy also sported blue jeans and a black sweatshirt with a white bird emblem on the front, alongside an “Ice Out” pin.

“And you guys thought you knew me…” she captioned the photos, as fans rushed to the comment section to share their thoughts.

Kathy shared a bold new look with her fans on Instagram

“No joke, you look really good as a blonde!” one fan wrote, while another added: “Kathy in her Barbie era.” A third chimed in: “I actually love this look on you,” while another said: “THAT is a BEAUTIFUL look! New Hair, Don’t Care!!”

Other fans were comparing her to blonde A-listers like Cher, Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus as her Disney character, Hannah Montana. Kathy has never been afraid to get candid about her appearance, nor to list the plastic surgery procedures she has undergone over the decades.

She received a nose job in her mid-20s after being told by people in the entertainment industry that she wouldn’t make it without one.

Fans were loving Kathy’s transformation

“I was told repeatedly, ‘You would be pretty if it weren’t for that nose. You’d work more if it weren’t for that nose. Hey, have you considered getting a nose job?'” she wrote in her 2009 book, Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin.

“You would think I had a nose the size of Texas. I was young and impressionable, and I was told that enough that I started to believe it, so I got a nose job.”

More recently, Kathy underwent her third facelift, a procedure which she explained on her podcast Talk Your Head Off“No one has ever gone to a Kathy Griffin show to see her beautiful, youthful face,” she quipped. “You come to hear my jokes, which is what I want. I don’t want you to come to care what I look like.”

“There’s a stitch in my chin, which you’re probably not going to see unless you’re under me, but not in that way,” she continued. “I’m going to be honest. It’s painful. So these [expletive] that are like, ‘It’s like getting a tooth filled! It’s nothing!’ No, it’s painful.”

Kathy expanded on the procedure in an interview with People, sharing that going under the knife inspired her new comedy special. “I got a facelift, which people seem to be fascinated by, and I just want to say I don’t know why, but it cracks me up,” she said.

“I’m laughing because I’ve done some political interviews that I did all this research for, and then they’re like, ‘Kathy Griffin gets a facelift.’ So, I know it’s part of the story, and I’m fine with it. I thought naming it New Face, New Tour was funny enough.”
