The investigation, carried out in close cooperation with UEFA’s anti-corruption unit, targeted widespread match-fixing activities linked to betting fraud. This unprecedented “cleansing” operation is not limited to the lower leagues, it has been revealed that the arms of corruption extend all the way up to the top league and even include youth categories.

The National Center for Combating Organized Crime confirmed that criminal proceedings are being carried out. NCOZ spokesperson Jaroslav Ibehej said: “Our unit is conducting criminal procedures today. The Olomouc Prosecutor General’s Office is authorized to provide information.”
David Trunda, President of the Czech Republic Football Association, declared the highest level of alert in the morning. According to ISport, Trunda sent a message to the members of the Executive Committee via a “red phone” with an emergency SOS code. “Since 06:00, perhaps the largest-scale intervention in Czech football history has been taking place. Europol and Interpol are also involved in the operation. Everything is coordinated with the UEFA Anti-Fixing Unit. 99% of the incidents are concentrated in the Moravian region and involve dozens of people. This is the result of cooperation between the federation and the Czech Police. Today, the Ethics Committee will initiate proceedings against more than 40 players, officials, referees and clubs, including clubs from the top flight to the 4th division and youth leagues.”
SPILLED OVER TO THE FIRST LEAGUE
Among the suspects is Jan Wolf, the mayor of Karvina, a city with a first division team. Karvina is currently the only first division club named.
The list of suspects also includes professional referees. Behind the scenes, there are two important names who have officiated major league matches in the past.
Upon these developments, the federation management immediately called for an extraordinary executive committee meeting. Following the meeting, a press conference is expected to be held to announce the details.
