Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, his mother, identified as Zipporah, shared that they had spent the day together on Wednesday, and he left the home. When the young man returned home, he asked the motorcycle driver to drop him far from home and not near home, as is the norm.

“He had mental health challenges before, but he got well. It looks like the mental health challenges are coming up once again; he started seeing hallucinations,” said Zipporah.

“He may be experiencing mental health challenges and be in need of help and support,” said Zipporah.

Zipporah said that her family was even more worried because the phone of the young man was switched off, and they had tried to call him without any success.

Families that are so far looking for their loved ones:

  • Susan Wanjiru opened up about her missing son, whom she had not heard from for over eight months and recounted the last conversation they had as he had travelled abroad, and said there had been no further communication since then
  • The Arap Ng’eno family, who are natives of Konoin in Bomet county shared that their son went missing eight years ago. Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, village elder Sammy Chepkwony said that Bernard Kipkirui made a mistake eight years ago and went to jail briefly
  • Jezreel Okoth Junior was supposed to return to school on Tuesday, January 6, but no one has seen him in school since that day. Okoth is a student from Sawagongo and lives with his dad, Oscar Ogutu, and mum, Caroline Atieno, who reported his disappearance.

Relief as family reunites with missing 9-year-old son

In another story, Cornelius Kipchirchir reunited with his family from Kapsait, Elgeyo Marakwet, after three months of being away.

Since last year, the nine-year-old boy has allegedly stayed at his relative’s home in Chepkigen Ziwa. He left the relative’s home on Tuesday, January 14, and a Good Samaritan saw him and then announced his state online.

Chebitok Zennah, who hosted the little boy for a night, told TUKO.co.ke that the family of the little boy contacted her and then reunited with him.
