Wolves showed great spirit to come from two goals down and earn a 2-2 draw against Brentford in an exciting Premier League match in London, Soccernet.ng reports.

Brentford started the game strongly and looked in full control during the first half. They took the lead in the 22nd minute through Michael Kayode, who rose high at the far post to head home a fine cross from Keane Lewis-Potter. It is the first Premier League goal of his career.

The home side doubled their lead in the 37th minute when Igor Thiago scored from close range after a quick counter-attack. At that point, Brentford looked comfortable and could have even added more goals, having created several chances.

However, Wolves found a way back just before half-time. A strong run from Jean-Ricner Bellegarde opened up Brentford’s defence, and he set up Adam Armstrong, who finished calmly to make it 2-1. That goal changed the mood of the game and gave Wolves belief going into the second half.

After the break, Wolves improved greatly. They pressed higher, created more chances, and looked more confident on the ball. Armstrong nearly scored again but hit the post, while Brentford began to lose control of the game.

The equaliser finally came in the 77th minute, and it was substitute Tolu Arokodare who made the difference. The Nigerian striker timed his run perfectly and powered a header into the net after a well-delivered cross from João Gomes.

Wolves almost completed a stunning comeback moments later, but Arokodare’s second header hit the crossbar. Both teams pushed for a winner late on, but neither could find the final goal, and the match ended 2-2.

This match was also a story of two standout individual performances from Super Eagles forward Tolu Arokodare and Nigeria descent Michael Kayode.

Arokodare came on in the second half and changed the game for Wolves. His physical presence, movement, and aerial strength caused serious problems for Brentford’s defence. His goal showed great awareness and timing, while his second effort that hit the crossbar proved how close he came to becoming the match winner.

Beyond the goal, Arokodare brought energy and belief to his team. His performance will give Wolves hope as they continue their fight to avoid relegation. He now has three Premier League goals this season and is becoming an important player for the team.

On the other hand, Kayode delivered an impressive display for Brentford. His opening goal was well-taken, and throughout the match, he showed confidence both in attack and defence.

The former Italy youth international has now registered a goal and two assists in 48 games across all competitions for Brentford.

The 21-year-old fullback, with his performances in England, continues to push for a place in Italy’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Believed to be under the transfer radar of PSG, Manchester City, and Real Madrid, Kayode is still eligible to represent Nigeria through his parents.
