Arijit Singh’s debut directorial to feature Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s daughter? Here’s what we know

A source confirmed to Hindustan Times that Arijit Singh will be busy with debuting as a filmmaker. It shared, “He’s been very passionate about it for long, and that required his time and efforts. Among the flood of offers, he wouldn’t have been able to do it. He will complete his director duties. This is more like a break for a year or so.” Meanwhile, the debut film might feature Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s daughter Shora. However, not much information has been out yet. 

Taking to his social media accounts, Arijit Singh wrote, “Hello, Happy new year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much of love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey.”

He further added that he won’t stop making music and he still has to finish some pending commitments, which will be released this year, and after that, he won’t sign any new assignments.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s daughter, Shora Siddiqui, is generating buzz for her acting potential after her father shared a video of her performing a scene in July 2025. Although it’s not an official film debut, the viral audition clip shows her performing in English with remarkable patience, leading fans to praise her as a “chip off the old block”. According to Nawazuddin, Shora is self-driven and, with great determination, sought out acting classes on her own.
