An agribusiness group, Kamurum Integrated Farms, has empowered approximately 120 women entrepreneurs across Jaba local government area of Kaduna state, in an initiative aimed at strengthening grassroots small and medium enterprises.
The programme held in Kwoi, Kaduna, drew business owners from all ten wards of the local governments, with a focus on enterprise support and financial inclusion.
Speaking at the event, the chief executive officer of Kamurum Integrated Farms, Rijo Shekari, said the intervention reflects a belief in women’s pivotal role in community development. He noted that economic inclusion initiatives are vital for building self-reliant communities.
“When we invest in women-led enterprises, we invest in household stability and local economic resilience.“These women are already running businesses that sustain families, our role is to provide the tools and resources that help them scale and thrive,” Shekari stated.
In her remarks, Mrs. Fatu Gyet Maude, wife of the paramount ruler of Ham, commended the initiative as a step towards sustainable development.
