Former Burnout Devs Return With ‘Wreckreation’ On Xbox Series X|S This October

Ready for a fun new arcade racing game on Xbox Series X|S?!

Three Fields Entertainment, which you may know as the developer behind the likes of Dangerous Golf and Dangerous Driving, is releasing a brand-new game on October 28th called Wreckreation, and it features a “400 square kilometer driving game universe” which you can race and crash in, as well as design and personalise to your heart’s content.

In Wreckreation, there’s a thing called a “MixWorld” where you and your friends can design courses, tracks and game modes – in fact, it sounds like you can pretty much do anything you want. And, excitingly for us, Three Fields Entertainment says the “Burnout DNA is alive and well” in this game, referring to the classic Burnout titles of old.

“Wreckreation offers players the best of both worlds: the thrill of pure arcade racing and the freedom to create. Behind the wheel of more than 50 cars, players can explore a vast open world: roam around a fictional county, spanning 400 square kilometers (about 150 square miles), packed with opportunities for speed, stunts, and spectacular crashes. The Burnout DNA is alive and well – racing, jumping, and smashing are all at the heart of the action.”

“But Wreckreation takes things further with its groundbreaking Live Mix feature. At any time, players can open the construction menu and shape their own racing paradise. Build highways that reach into the clouds, design loops, ramps, and jumps, or place billboards, houses, decorations, and even towering dinosaur statues. Creativity has no limits – and everything can be shared. Invite friends to race, crash, and explore your personal racing wonderland together. And that is still not all: With the press of a button, players can instantly change the weather, time of day, traffic density, and much more, tailoring every race to their imagination.”

Sounds cool, right? We’re definitely intrigued to see what the developers have done with this one, especially considering a bunch of them are ex-Criterion Games employees, meaning they’ve worked on multiple classic Need for Speed titles as well as the aforementioned Burnout games.

We’ll be back in October to give you the lowdown on how this game is shaping up, and you should soon find it available for pre-order on the Xbox Store at a very reasonable price of just $39.99.
