M&E specialist HE Simm files administration notice

The family run M&E firm has been in business since 1948 and is in based in Liverpool with offices in London and Manchester.

Latest results for the company for the extended accounting period of 17 months to December 31 2023 show a turnover of £118m generating a pre-tax loss of £8.9m

H E Simm said the losses were down to inflationary pressures on fixed price contracts and performance issues on a number of legacy projects in London.

The company implemented a recovery plan to streamline management structures and reporting processes with more selective bidding while the Simm family pumped £4m of funding into the firm.

At the time of the results the family run business employed 184 people.
