Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has reached a major career milestone, taking charge of his 100th match for the club on the opening weekend of the new Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 45-year-old tactician, who has been at the helm since 2022, hit the landmark during Friday’s 1-1 draw against Rivers United at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.
Former Flying Eagles forward Aniekeme Okon gave Rivers United the lead before Super Eagles striker Victor Mbaoma levelled for the hosts.
Ogunmodede’s record now stands at 100 games, 53 wins, 20 draws and 27 defeats.

His achievement comes just a day after returning from Tanzania, where he served as assistant coach to Eric Chelle with Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles at the African Nations Championship (CHAN). The team exited in the group stage despite ending on a high with a 2-0 victory over Congo.

The former CD Feirense assistant coach has played a pivotal role in shaping Remo Stars’ rise.
Last season, he guided the Ikenne-based side to their first NPFL title, ending the South-West’s 25-year wait for a league champion since Julius Berger in 2000. That triumph came after back-to-back runners-up finishes in 2023 and 2024.
Ogunmodede’s association with Remo Stars dates back to 2015, when he joined as assistant manager under Nduka Ugbade. He later took charge of the club’s youth setup, overseeing its development into the Beyond Limits Football Academy. His first senior managerial spell began in 2020, leading Remo back to the NPFL before a brief stint in Portugal with Feirense.
Now a centurion with Remo Stars, Ogunmodede’s immediate focus will be building on last season’s title success while also balancing his responsibilities with the Super Eagles as World Cup qualifiers approach in September.
