Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi has taken a significant step by switching to the agency of Jorge Mendes and his renowned company Gestifute, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Portuguese football agent is known to manage global superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, Lamine Yamal, David de Gea, José Mourinho, Rúben Dias, James Rodríguez, João Félix, and a host of others.

According to reports from Florian Plettenberg and Sky Sport Germany, the 23-year-old winger will now be represented by Mendes—one of the most influential agents in football.

Soccer Is Adeyemi Preparing for Dortmund Exit?

Adeyemi remains under contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2027, but his latest move is expected to shape his future at the club as he prepares for the next summer transfer window.

This news also comes at a time when Adeyemi has been linked with several top European clubs. Napoli, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Juventus have all been credited with interest in recent months.

Dortmund are said to value him at around €65 million. Napoli in particular are reportedly weighing up a €40 million bid for the German-Nigerian star.

Soccer Adeyemi: The Fufu Man

The German-Nigerian, who famously attributed his pace to his diet of Nigerian fufu, has never hidden his pride in his African root.

After his decisive Champions League goal against Chelsea in 2023, he joked that fufu is the secret behind his speed.

“I eat a lot of African food but I have good genetics from my day, so I think it’s a little difficult for you to get,” he said.

“It’s called fufu from Nigeria and also very good. The only thing was to get past a defender and at the end, I just had to run to try to get past him.”

Despite the transfer rumours, per Onefootball, Adeyemi has also expressed his desire to make history with Dortmund, openly dreaming of celebrating a Bundesliga title at Borsigplatz with the club’s passionate supporters.

His decision to join Mendes’ Gestifute, however, hints at ambitions to boost his profile in football, much like Ronaldo and other stars under Mendes’ management.

Although, Dortmund hold the cards as Adeyemi’s contract expires in 2027, but Adeyemi’s partnership with Mendes shows that the next few transfer windows are ones to keep an eye on.
