Breakout UK singer-songwriter Skye Newman has unveiled a new a cappella one-shot video for her current single, ‘Out Out’.
Raw and emotionally-charged, the heart-tugging one-take performance centres Skye’s expressive vocal. In Skye ‘s own words, “I wanted to give you something raw & real in my most vulnerable state.”
Following the success of her first two singles, ‘Hairdresser’ and ‘Family Matters’ – which peaked at No. 5 on the UK charts – ‘Out Out’ further cements Skye’s reputation as a homegrown talent to bank on.
On ‘Out Out’, Skye explores the quiet heartbreak of drifting apart in a long-term relationship, when comfort replaces excitement, and both partners long for the spark that once was.
Speaking on the single, Skye shares:
“‘Out Out’ will hopefully resonate with many. When you’ve been in a relationship for a long time, you can both feel comfortable but also disconnected. The romance fades, the dating stops — and while it’s not about being unhappy, it’s about wanting more. Wanting to remember how it felt at the start.”
Looking ahead, Skye is set to support Lewis Capaldi on his autumn UK tour and will perform at Reading Festival this August. She also recently announced two major headline shows in September at O2 Ritz in Manchester and KOKO Camden in London.
