Real Sociedad and Valencia will meet in a decisive meeting that could determine the future of a Super Eagles star…

Spanish LaLiga clubs Real Sociedad and Valencia will meet on Saturday to discuss the transfer of Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar, Soccernet.ng reports.

Sadiq’s future has been in the balance since he left Los Che at the end of his loan deal last summer.

Recall that he joined Valencia due to his lack of game time. And he shone there, putting up six goals in 19 appearances. But at the end of his loan, the club refused to sign him permanently.

The Super Eagles striker has since returned to Real Sociedad, but the club have made it clear to him that he is surplus to requirements.

Sadiq has not been with the rest of his teammates for pre-season, and he was excluded from their LaLiga opener on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the former Almeria man has been linked with multiple clubs like Alaves, Elche, and Getafe this summer, but nothing has emerged from the speculations yet.

Now, according to Flashscore Spain, representatives from Valencia met with Real Sociedad to discuss a transfer for Sadiq.

Coincidentally, both clubs meet each other in their opening game of the LaLiga today. So, Sadiq’s future could be decided before the game even starts.

Sadiq is valued at €5 million on Transfermarkt, but Real Sociedad will likely demand a higher fee for the 28-year-old striker.

The Super Eagles star will hope that the matter is sorted as soon as possible so he can start playing football regularly.

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is very close, and he risks missing out if he does not start playing regularly before then.
