Bristol City Council has awarded a £288m highways and civils framework covering a four-year programme of road improvement and infrastructure work.
The Highways Asset Management and Civils Framework, which will run from October 2025 to September 2029, is divided into 10 lots.
These cover a range of services from surfacing and structural maintenance to traffic management and soil investigations.
Work includes machine-laid surfacing, micro-asphalts, structural repairs to bridges and retaining walls, and engineering schemes valued both below and above £500,000.
A total of 27 firms (see boxout) have won a place on the framework following an open procedure.
Among them are Vinci subsidiary Eurovia, Colas (in a joint venture), Taylor Woodrow and Octavius Infrastructure.
The framework is also designed to be accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises and voluntary sector organisations, with specialist firms such as GroundSolve, Structural Soils and Kelly Bros named among the winners.
Traffic management duties will be handled by H.W. Martin, Go Traffic Management and Hooke Highways, while larger engineering schemes will be delivered by major contractors with experience in complex highways delivery.
