YouTuber P2istheName’s Cause of Death Revealed

YouTuber P2istheName’s cause of death has been revealed.

The content creator, whose real name was Philip Enewally, died in March at the age of 26.

Enewally died from sudden cardiac dysfunction due to a rare heart condition known as solitary papillary muscle hypertrophy, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office said in a Tuesday, June 10, news release. His death was determined to be from natural causes.

“Solitary papillary muscle hypertrophy is a subtype of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which is a risk factor for a sudden fatal cardiac event,” the medical examiner’s office said.

Enewally was found unconscious in a mail room inside his Los Angeles residence on March 14. He was pronounced dead at the scene at around 3:11 p.m. local time by fire department personnel who responded to the scene.

Enewally’s mother confirmed his death to TMZ on March 15, asking that the family’s privacy be respected as they grieve. She also encouraged people to visit his YouTube channel as a way to honor his memory.

Enewally was a YouTuber with nearly 4 million subscribers to his channel P2istheName, known for his gaming videos — in which he played NBA 2K and Fortnite — as well as vlogs and pranks, among other video formats.

“My good friend @P2istheName has passed away… wow. I’m honestly at a loss for words,” fellow YouTuber ColetheMan wrote via X at the time. “He was always so kind to me and gave me so much content creation advice. May he rest in peace. This breaks my heart.”

In one of his final videos uploaded via YouTube earlier this year, titled “I Made My Own Clothing Brand and It Actually Worked,” Enewally spoke about the process of starting his own company.

“I’m trying not to cry right now. God is amazing, bro. God is amazing. [If y’all could only see] what it took to get here,” he said. “I literally was praying in the car for a beautiful drop, thanking God for even giving me the creativity to put this together.”
