Al-Hilal make Jose Mourinho’s favourite transfer Plan B as Victor Osimhen receives record-breaking offer

Soccer

Victor Osimhen has once again received a record-breaking offer from Saudi Arabian giants Al-Hilal, Soccernet.ng reports.

However, in the event of another rejection, the wealthy Arabians are ready to shift focus to an alternative target — Fenerbahçe’s in-form striker Youssef En-Nesyri, a player highly favoured by Jose Mourinho.

Osimhen, currently enjoying his off-season break in Nigeria, has shown no interest in making the switch to the Saudi Pro League despite receiving six previous offers from Al-Hilal.

According to Napoli Calcio News, the latest offer presented to the Nigerian forward is a staggering €160 million package for a three-year deal — a contract that would see him earn over €40 million per season. The deal would make him the highest-paid Nigerian footballer in history, eclipsing the earnings of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations topscorer Odion Ighalo during his spell in China.

Reports from Italy has revealed that Al-Hilal manager Simone Inzaghi will personally reach out to Osimhen in an effort to convince him. That may have little effect, though, as the 26-year-old striker remains committed to pursuing a future in Europe. He is understood to be waiting for potential interest from elite European clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, or Real Madrid.

Galatasaray, where Osimhen enjoyed a sensational loan stint, are also working hard to sign the Super Eagles striker on a permanent basis.

With the door seemingly closing on Osimhen, Al-Hilal have now identified Morocco international En-Nesyri as their primary forward target, as per TGRT Haber.

The 27-year-old Fenerbahçe man enjoyed a prolific campaign last season, netting 30 goals and registering seven assists. He is under contract until 2029 and is regarded by Mourinho as indispensable, having been the Portuguese manager’s first major signing upon arriving in Istanbul.

Al-Hilal are expected to submit a formal bid depending on Mourinho’s final stance, although prising En-Nesyri away from Fenerbahçe could prove as complex as their failed pursuit of Osimhen.
