Judge Orders Neuromedical Center to Release Records on Surgeon in LSU DB Greg Brooks Brain Tumor Lawsuit

A judge has ruled that The Neuromedical Center must turn over documents related to Dr. Brandon Gaynor, a surgeon involved in a high-profile medical malpractice lawsuit filed by a patient named Greg Brooks.

Greg Brooks the former LSU star football player is suing Our Lady of the Lake and LSU, alleging that LSU medical staff failed to properly evaluate his neurological symptoms—failures that ultimately led to a delayed brain tumor diagnosis. He also claims that surgical errors during the tumor’s removal caused long-term complications that left him disabled.

While The Neuromedical Center is not named as a defendant in the lawsuit, Dr. Gaynor, the surgeon who performed the operation, also practices at the center. Brooks’ legal team issued a subpoena for records related to Dr. Gaynor’s medical background and surgical history in an effort to support their case.

The Neuromedical Center attempted to block the subpoena, arguing the requested documents were not relevant. However, Judge Tiffany Foxworth denied that motion, ordering the center to produce the records within 30 days.

The decision marks a significant development in the case, as the plaintiff’s attorneys seek to examine Dr. Gaynor’s qualifications and prior conduct as a surgeon.
