“We look forward to seeing participants enjoy the benefits of this new program.”
The free programming will begin in April, with sessions that include wellness, educational activities, social events and drop-in programs designed for older adults — age 55 and up — at various locations.
Activities such as pole walking, yoga, water activities, card games, painting, knitting and more are scheduled.
Cyber seniors, a program designed to bridge the digital divide by connecting older adults with tech-savvy staff for one-on-one assistance with their devices, begins April 28 at 10 a.m.
Additional offerings will include coffee with a community leader and more sneakers and speakers sessions, along with special seniors’ day events.
Further information will be available from the town as the program rolls out.
Pre-registration is required, beginning two weeks in advance of each activity. Registration is open to all individuals 55 and older.
For further information and to register for sessions, call 519-969-7770 or visit www.lasalle.ca and look for LSAL (LaSalle Senior Active Living) programs under the Things To Do tab.
The initiative is made possible through a $55,000 annual grant from the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility.
