Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie delivered a masterclass in goalkeeping to guide Paris FC to their first Coupe de France Féminine title in nearly two decades, defeating city rivals Paris Saint-Germain in a dramatic penalty shootout, Soccernet.ng reports.

The final, played at the Stade de l’Épopée in Calais, was the first all-Paris showdown in the history of the competition.

With scores level after normal time, it was Nnadozie who proved the difference, saving two penalties to help Paris FC triumph in the shootout and secure their first major silverware since 2006.

It was a moment of sweet revenge for Nnadozie and her teammates, who had lost to PSG on penalties in last season’s semi-final after a thrilling 3-3 draw.

This time, the Nigerian shot-stopper was at her brilliant best, delivering when it mattered most to hand Paris FC their second-ever Coupe de France crown — the first coming back in 2005.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper, who joined Paris FC from Rivers Angels in 2020, has long been one of Africa’s most respected goalkeepers. Her latest heroics only add to a growing list of accomplishments, both at club and international level.

With Rivers Angels, Nnadozie won the 2016 Nigerian Women’s Championship and three consecutive Nigerian Women’s Cups between 2016 and 2018, before helping the club lift the NWPL title in the 2019–2020 season.

For Nigeria, she was part of the Super Falcons side that won the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations and also helped the country to gold at the 2019 African Games, where she saved three penalties in the final against Cameroon.

Her individual accolades include the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award in both 2023 and 2024, D1 Arkema’s Goalkeeper of the Season in 2023–24, and the IFFHS award for Africa’s Best Woman Goalkeeper in 2019.

At the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, she became the youngest goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet at the tournament in Nigeria’s 2–0 win over South Korea.

Four years later, she captained the Super Falcons against Olympic champions Canada, saving a penalty and earning the Player of the Match award in a goalless draw at the 2023 edition.
