Speculation about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s health continues to grow, with claims that he may have experienced a “mini-stroke” or is dealing with other serious health issues.
Abbas Gallyamov, a former Kremlin speechwriter who worked for Putin during his first two terms as president, told the Daily Express that Putin “definitely has some problems.
Gallyamov suggested that the Russian leader’s health issues became apparent in 2022, following the invasion of Ukraine, when Putin was seen shaking “uncontrollably” during a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
Gallyamov described the symptoms as resembling the aftermath of a mini-stroke, though other reports have speculated about conditions such as Parkinson’s or cancer.
The health rumors come as Putin prepares to speak with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday to discuss a potential ceasefire in Ukraine. Trump told reporters that the call would focus on “land and power plants” and the division of certain assets. Putin has expressed openness to a 30-day ceasefire but emphasized that there are “nuances” to address, including negotiations with American officials.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has outlined its own conditions for a ceasefire, including no further territorial concessions, the return of thousands of abducted Ukrainian children and civilians, and international security guarantees. These demands highlight the complexities of reaching a lasting peace agreement.
