EA FC make ‘transfer deadline day’ swoop to give fans major ‘live skeleton’ upgrade
Even EA is in the transfer mood as they make move to firm up that it is a leader in advanced sports optical tracking and analysis solutions’ which could be big news for EA FC 26
EA FC 25 felt like a relatively solid entry in the franchise back at launch but the development team has thrown plenty at it to improve things â including a huge mid-season gameplay update.
Now, publisher EA is looking further ahead, acquiring TRACAB Technologies in a stunning deadline day swoop, and saying it expects “ground-breaking new features” as a result of the move.

Whether the update is likely to have ramifications for this year’s expected release of EA FC 26 or not, here’s what EA had to say about it in a new press release.
EA FC to get ‘ground-breaking new features’
TRACAB says it’s able to capture ânearly everything happening on the field or pitch at 60Hz per second, generating 600 million data points per game, including 65 unique data points per player and referee by capturing live skeleton data from 21 joints on each individual body on the pitch, as well as the center of mass and ball tracking, and so much more.â

That’s an awfully large number of data points, but it’ll help “accelerate groundbreaking new features in the EA Sports App”.
As per the blog, “These capabilities can unlock a new level of enhanced realism, animation and dynamic, real time simulation for our fans and allow EA SPORTS to leverage TRACABâs ability to generate near real-time insights for media broadcast teams, referees, players, coaches, and fans.”
“Joining EA SPORTS marks an exciting new chapter for TRACAB Technologies,â says Martin Brogren, GM of TRACAB Technologies in the blog.

âOur mission has always been to push the boundaries of sports data and analysis, and with EA SPORTSâ vast resources and vision for innovation, weâre confident that we can create even more immersive and dynamic experiences for sports fans around the world.â
As for the EA Sports App, it’s only available in Spain at present, but it’s intended to offer “reimagined highlights, predictive simulations, and even watching alternative broadcasts on-demand” when it rolls out to more regions.
It’s been a big week for EA. Yesterday, the company revealed it’s combining the efforts of four of its studios to form Battlefield Studios.
