YouTube Announces New Series of ‘Creator Collective’ IRL Events

YouTube has announced a new series of “Creator Collective” meet-up events across the U.S., which will enable YouTube creators to make connections, exchange ideas, and learn how to create more resonant content for their audience.

YouTube Creator Collective

As per YouTube:

Our Creator Collective events are designed by creators, for creators. Throughout the year, we’re running gatherings across the U.S., including special events like SXSW in Austin, VidCon in Anaheim, and DreamCon in Houston. Plus, we’re launching a dedicated series for short-form video creators, and are especially excited to connect with creators in states we’re visiting for the first time.”

Indeed, YouTube is running IRL meet-ups in all 50 U.S. states throughout 2025, and you can RSVP to each specific meet-up here.

As YouTube notes, a big focus of this new series will be short-form video, and creating for YouTube Shorts, and where Shorts fits into the broader YouTube channel-building structure.

Tailing on the back of the broader short-form content trend, led by TikTok, Shorts are YouTube’s fastest-growing content type, and are now driving over 70 billion views per day.

As such, Shorts have enabled many creators to expand their channel engagement, and with YouTube gleaning significant engagement benefits from the format, it’s keen to highlight how others can also tap into Shorts to connect with a broader audience.

And that could also have benefits with TikTok’s future in the U.S. still up in the air.

In all likelihood, a TikTok deal will eventually be reached, and the app will remain accessible in the U.S. But even if it does, the ongoing uncertainty around the app has likely spooked a lot of creators who rely on it for their income, and pushed them towards other platforms to establish firmer foundations.

Which is why this focus on short form content could be of value in this latest events series, while it will also give YouTube more opportunity to share the latest updates and best practice tips to enhance community engagement.

If you’re a YouTube creator, it could be worth getting along to the Creator Collective gathering in your state.
