Arne Slot confirms major injury blow for Liverpool star

Liverpool have been dealt a fresh injury setback as Arne Slot confirmed Conor Bradley will be out for several weeks.

The right-back picked up a muscle injury in the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa, adding to the club’s growing list of sidelined players.

Arne Slot provides update on Conor Bradley’s injury

Bradley was forced off late in the game against Villa after coming on for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The young defender’s injury comes at a crucial stage of the season, with Liverpool pushing for success in multiple competitions.

Slot provided an update on Bradley during his pre-match press conference ahead of their clash with Newcastle.

“Conor is out for a few weeks. I cannot detail exactly how many, but he went off with a muscle injury and it will take a while before he’s back,” Slot said via Liverpool FC’s official channels.

The news will be a concern for Liverpool, as defensive depth is already being tested. Joe Gomez, Tyler Morton, and Cody Gakpo have all faced injury issues recently, with Gomez expected to miss most of the remaining season.

Who can fill the back up at right back for Liverpool

With Bradley sidelined, Liverpool will now be even more reliant on Alexander-Arnold to stay fit.

The vice-captain has already missed time this season due to a hamstring injury, and any further absence could leave the Reds in a difficult position.

Jarell Quansah could be an option to fill in at right-back if needed, having briefly played there earlier in the season. However, with a busy fixture schedule ahead, Liverpool will be hoping Alexander-Arnold can remain injury-free.

The only positive injury news for Liverpool is that Alexis Mac Allister, who suffered facial injuries in the win over Manchester City, is expected to train ahead of the Newcastle match.

Still, with key defenders missing, Slot’s side faces a tough challenge in the coming weeks.
